If anyone is interested, I set up an ICB server (ICB is a pre-IRC chat protocol) for real-time LiteBSD chat. There is a package for LiteBSD (and a port) and it will compile on any *BSD/Linux: https://github.com/ibara/icb (of course, on *BSD/Linux you can use something like irssi-icb too).

If you're on a LiteBSD machine and install the package (# pkg add icb-6) then you'll connect automagically to the server. Otherwise, ping me for the server address.

Make sure to set your nick on the command line, i.e., you run icb like this:
Code:
# icb -n ibara

Hi Brian,

Icb compiles OK here on Linux. Seems to run OK.

I would have thought strings icb on either the Linux version or the PIC32 version would have given me the magic to connect with your server?

Did I miss the magic?

Hi Brian,

Please ignore last post. Answer was [should have been] obvious.

Looks like it is working on this end. But no one home right now I guess.

Yes. You need the IP address of the server if you're not using the LiteBSD package.
The IP address is 45.63.16.221
And yes, I saw your messages (I've been gone at a Super Bowl party all night). :)

Just fixed a pretty big bug: please re-download the icb package (or re-clone the git repository if using on *BSD/Linux).
