A classic Unix tool, awk, is now available for LiteBSD in the form of mawk.
For some reason, I can't get nawk to compile but mawk is good too (and likely a lot more powerful).
Unfortunately it's GPLv2 licensed, so into the ports tree it goes.

For those not in the know, mawk is a serious implementation of AWK. The person who maintains it also maintains some software you might have heard of: ncurses, byacc, lynx, and xterm (and others). mawk is also the default awk implementation of Debian.

Also, I've uploaded all the packages and my pkg utility: https://devio.us/~bcallah/pub/LiteBSD/packages/
(EDIT: pkg-1.1 was released after posting this)

There are 2 ways to use the repo:
You must add /usr/local to your $PATH regardless of which way you choose (maybe we should do this in .profile?). And you must also put all the packages you want to install onto your sdcard.img (for now, until I get get networking support working; still can't get QEMU to do networking).
1. Bootstrap pkg by running:
Code:
# tar xvzf pkg-1.1.tgz -C /

Then you can run
Code:
# pkg add PKGNAME
to install another package,
Code:
# pkg rm PKGNAME
to remove all of a package's files, and
Code:
# pkg info
to see information on all your installed packages.

2. If you don't want to install pkg, you can install any package directly by running:
Code:
# tar xvzf PKGNAME.tgz -C /
but you can't do any of the package maintenance (pkg rm and pkg info) this way, you'll have to do everything manually.
