Post subject: Looking for UBW32 binary

Hello,

Newcomer here. I'd like to try out retrobsd on my UBW32 board from Sparkfun.
But it's not listed on the binaries page - should I try with another image?
Preferred variant would be with USB support, since that would be easier to try out.

Also small note for this forum: a search for "ubw32" is being rejected as noise word.

Cheers,
-jcw

Hi jcw,

I didn't put ubw32 into the default autobuild list, as there is no common agreement about connecting SD card to it. People can attach SD slot in different ways, and it will need a different configuration of the kernel. I can manually build the ubw32 binary package for you, or you can do it using the configuration file sys/pic32/ubw32/Config, which assumes a connection mentioned on UBW32 page.

Search feature on this phpbb engine looks a bit slimsy. Try "ubw", it should work.

Regards,

Hello Serge,

Thanks - yes, an image for the UBW32 would be most helpful.
Absolutely no rush - this is a fun project on the side for me.
I can hook up the SD card as on the UBW32 page, no prob.

Thx,
- Jean-Claude

Jean-Claude,

I've added ubw32 tp the list, so now you can download the package from the autobuild page: http://retrobsd.org/wiki/autobuild.php.

Fantastic! It worked on the very first try:

Code:
# df
Filesystem  1K-blocks     Used    Avail Capacity  Mounted on
/dev/sd0a      101999    12146    89853    11%    /

With vi and cc - wow, this is amazing.
Oodles of fun ahead, exploring and tinkering! :)

Many thanks,
- Jean-Claude

Welcome to the club!
This is exactly what RetroBSD is: a tiny DIY Unix. :)
