Try removing the SD1 definition. I know there are still software bugs in running two on the same channel.

Disabled SD1 as suggested by Majenko and Pito, now I get the following at which point everything hangs with the two leds closest to the sdcard lit (not certain what these map to at the moment).

Code:
2.11 BSD Unix for PIC32, revision 860M build 17:

Jaromir, which version of the code are you running?

Currently I'm running R859
Code:
#
# UBW32 board
# ===========
#
# Console on UART3

core pic32mx7
linker bootloader-sdram
mapping generic

device kernel led=A15
device console led=A14 device=tty2
device uart3
device rdisk led=C13 swap=C14
device sd0 port=4 cs=F3 power=B13 mhz=2
# device sd1 port=4 cs=F8 power=D13
device sdramp

option PARTITION=sdramp0:sa@2048,fs@14000

Notice B13 is SDC power instead of D12 due to rework I made on board. Without rework D12 would be correct choice.

At that point it is running FSCK. Your filesystem may be corrupted from the earlier failures - try really imaging it.

Not to loose focus: do we have any update on how our new Retroboard works? There has been a list of open issues - users who have assembled the prototype may comment (madscifi, jaromir)?

Issue list:
-------------
1. Sdcard - 2 cards issue (wiring bug)
2. Sdcard - os support for two cards - tested?
3. SDRAM - stability, filesystem performance
4. RTC - os support, tested?
5. Rear bus connector - fine tuning, what we miss
6. Boot pin
7. Config file
8. PCB Eagle files - what rework is needed (pls post the files here)
