Hi everyone,

I was asking myself, could retroBSD be implemented on a board with :

- A PIC32MX675F512H microchip MCU (or higher),
- A ethernet port (Texas DP83848 PHY),
- A I2C port,
- A GST connector 5-pins used by the ICD 3 to program the MCU.

And that's all. No console port, no SD Card port. I am fairly new to the pic technology, so sorry if it is obvious.
If it can be implemented in this configuration, can you help me with the manipulation ?

Regards,
Tanguy.

Negative with this one. You need a chip with at least 128kB ram.

Negative, you need a console (or usb console), and you must have an SDcard.

Thanks for these replies :)

Another question :

I have an application to run on a PIC32, and it needs openSSL. With retroBSD, could it run ? :)

RetroBSD has no inbuilt support for networking. It has rudimentary application level support for the Wiznet W5100 chips (Arduino Ethernet Shield) but that is all. Unfortunately there just isn't the memory for a full networking stack.

I am not overly familiar with the W5100 chips, but if they have SSL support built in then it might be possible to enable that from your application, but I don't know.
