Hi all,

I'm new to retrobsd! Just wanted to find out how it's working.
I have a Duinomite-mini with MMBasic installed.
I use an old P4 PC with 32bit Windows XP installed.
The Duinomite is in programming mode (blinking green and yellow) and
Windows has detected it as a HID device.

Using pic32prog unix.hex (from retrobsd-duinomite-2015-12-03.zip) gives me:

Programmer for Microchip PIC32 microcontrollers, Version 2.0.186
Copyright: (C) 2011-2015 Serge Vakulenko
hidboot: error -1 receiving packet

I'm doing it wrong or is it a bug?

Greetings

Dekay

I think you need to either install a different bootloader (Serge's) or use the Duinomite specific programming tool, whatever that may be...

It's something related to Windows XP, may be some incompatibility in USB HID library. Pic32prog should work fine with native Duinomite bootloader. I would propose to try it on a different computer.

well, actually, I could flash the software with the Duinomite Flash software:
https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/D ... nomite.zip

Now after pressing reset Windows recognizes a RetroBSD Console, but
unfortunately the Duinomite COM port drivers are not accepted...
Are there different COM drivers available?

I believe chipKIT serial drivers should for RetroBSD and Duinomite: http://chipkit.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2289.

Thanks a lot! I have it working. I will also check the driver you noted, but
I found this first:
http://www.microchip.com/forums/downloa ... e=0;333454

and this was accepted.
